Assessment of the Feedstock Availability for Covering EU Alternative Fuels Demand

Modern economies rely on the efficiency of their transportation sector; however, environmental impact sector remains a growing concern. Among various proposed solutions, production and deployment alternative fuels is major option. However, concerns exist that actual availability sustainable feedstock might lower current level ambition. This paper addresses this issue by reviewing recent studies policy targets, to match forecasts for expected demand road, aviation, maritime sectors in EU 2030. The existing literature fragmented based variety different approaches, consistent assessment potential overall transport still missing. In spite challenges posed numerous uncertainties, research provides an estimate European ranges between 20 33 Mtoe. We aimed answer question about cover demand. analysis confirmed, even under very conservative assumptions, may not be barrier today.
